The Brazilian artist Oswaldo Montenegro is known for his remarkable musical presence and is an icon of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music). His album “Trilhas,” released in 1977, represents a milestone in his career. On September 15, 1977, Oswaldo Montenegro and his group, consisting of Amadeu, Madalena Salles, Enio, and Mongol, performed a unique show, playing the soundtracks of the plays “Labirinto” and “João sem nome” live.
This album, which marked Oswaldo Montenegro’s debut on record, became one of the rarest independent LPs in Brazilian music from the 1970s. Only 300 copies were pressed at the time and sold in the lobbies of theaters where the artist performed. “Trilhas” not only reaffirmed Oswaldo Montenegro’s musical talent but also earned a special place in the hearts of Brazilian Popular Music fans.
